Something special happened on Friday evening at the clubhouse. Two distinguished Dart sailors (Pete S and James) kindly explained the basics of race management to a keen audience. In a ‘nutshell’, the training session emphasised the need for pre planning, awareness of the forecast and weather conditions on the day, and also to consider the needs of competitors, in order to provide good competitive racing on the river, and on the lake.

Pete Spedding and James Douglas will be running a Race Officer training session on Friday evening. This will be a refresher for those who have done the duty before, as well as covering the basics for those who have yet to perform a duty. Clearly, being a race-oriented club, it is central to our activities, and important that all potential Race Officers are equipped to perform the duty as well as possible. In other words, please make the effort to attend.
