29 April 04 The next generation of DSC active members are being prepared for the vagaries of sailing. One of which is the dogged continuation of activities even when 1 of the vital components is missing, in this case the wind. As you may hear it said from time to time "any fool can sail a boat in ideal conditions"! It may then follow that it takes a special kind of fool to sail at any other time. Not so with the DSC optimist fleet, the young helms are every bit as competetive as their parents and a force 0 to 1 is just another opportunity to do better than the rest. Thanks to Mike Hilton for the photographs. For further information on joining the optimist fleet and giving your offspring a chance to shine follow this link to the Optimists fleet page. Rigging the boats. Waiting for movement. Still life on the West Kirby marine millpond. Future World Champion (Master Hilton) Race report to follow shortly. 01 April 04.
