Commodore's Cruise

[Ed - captions wanted - small prize in the hall of fame for any entries, to be made via the BB]

The Annual Commodore's Cruise took place as planned to the Hoyle Bank on Saturday July the 2nd. The rest of the kindred clubs of Wirral planned their cruises to take place on the Sunday so all you can see is the Dee Sailing Club. It was a great success as no one got badly lost or killed (In the beach games that is). We had, as usual, Dawpool loaded with food, fine victuals and distinguished members of Dee.  All Dee's fleets were represented, the LBSAs, Fast Cats, Dart 18s, Handicap Cats and Monohulls .  The annual Mates Race, which reverses the normal crewing / helming duties  was won by [Ed - difficult to fill in the blanks here, since there was no finishing line in place when the first boats arrived - Ian Blair's was the first Cat on the scene but I believe Jonathan Harris was the first crew to arrive as a helm after negotiating a couple of sandbanks on the way. A final decision is awaited.... but unlikely without any times for the official results ]. All in all, an excellent day and one to look forward to next year.
