11 July Update and itinerary.
From 14:00 at the Dee Sailing Club members and guests are welcome to the afternoons attractions. An invitation is going out to our kindred clubs to visit our 'boat jumble' and enjoy the events. There is a medieval Trebuchet where you can try your skill and maybe hit the target, there is a bouncy castle for the juniors, a tournament of skill and courage in the form of a duel with a prize for the overall winners, a RNLI stall, Fionas' Art stall, Chrissys's designer label clothing, a raffle (with a fantastic top prize of a portrait comminssion by local artist Fiona Jackson) and there will be games and even a set of full size stocks for the unwary. For a small fee you may elect to splonge a Flag Officer or two using wet sponges and without fear of retribution, perchance? Snack food will be available and the bar will be open. Come and join in the fun or come to sit and watch the spectacle...
At 18:00 tickets only (£10) the Banquet will begin with the carving of the Hog. There will be a Medieval Tarot reading and roving entertainers from 19:30. When the food is finished the dancing will begin to the sounds of Reckless Elbow. Tickets will be available during this week.
29 Jun Update for the Medieval Banquet.
From 14:00 to 17:30 on Sat 16 July all club members their families and their friends will be welcome and admission is free. There will be a bouncy castle for the children, and a tournament for the adults. There will be games of skill and things of interest to help raise money for the DSC Boat Shed project. From 18:00 the Medieval Banquet will begin with a full size hog roast and at 20:00 Reckless Elbow will provide entertainment. The evening time will be by ticket costing only £10 for adults and £7.50 for children. A family ticket is also available costing £30 for Mum & Dad and two children, and numbers will be limited so book early. Details and Booking or put your name down on the form on the club notice board.
There will be a raffle with a most fantastic top prize. Local artist Fiona Jackson has donated a portrait commission that would normally cost £120. Fiona specialises in Animal portraits but is equally skilled to capture the likeness of your boat. In our Vice Commodores case that would be two in one... A call is going out to all members for donations of 'boat jumble' to be sold on the day and help raise some money for the Boat Shed. Contact Rear Commodore (Social)
