Wombaff '06

It's that time again... when the fleets enjoy a bit of friendly rivalry, thinking matters will be resolved to the satisfaction of either the Darts or the Fast Cats, when we should all be knobbling the youth element before they even get to the Marine Lake. If Messers Douglas and Moruzzi haven't found some cars for their boys to wash, or some weeding that requires the delicate hands of their offspring, we're done for. The Wombaff event has been moved to a weekend afternoon, so that we are able to take our time to enjoy being thrashed by the young 'uns. It kicks off at 3pm, this Saturday, at the Marine Lake. And if you didn't already know, it's all about teams of three people 'team racing' Picos round the lake, or a corner thereof, depending on the wind. Last year we had a laugh watching the Dads come so close to a trouncing by their very own... and this year those same youngsters have a good deal more experience of National level competition under their belts, whereas the Dads have been reduced to support crew... Should be interesting. Watch this space, or better still, come and join in.

If you still don't have a clue what it is about, then last year's write up probably won't help much - but you could have a laugh at the racing attire selected by the eventual winners.
