F18 Training
Don't forget the F18 Training on Saturday morning! Don Findlay will be giving a day of his time to teach the F18 drivers how to get off the line first, and stay in front, in time for the Nationals later this month. Don is a great source for an opinion on all matters related to cat sailing and probably more besides, so I suggest you try to catch him in the bar after the sailing if you can't get on the water yourself.

Security
The notice on the website is prompted by a spate of petty thefts from our boats - the best advice is to protect yourself. Remove it or lose it. All like that. However, it is good to know that our sleuthing has resulted in a positive response. 'Nuff said for the time being.

Summer Series
Er, well done me, if that isn't too narcissistic for you. Great supporting action from Jonathan, back in his role as crew after trying the helm throughout the Spring Series. He'll be getting his helming fix from a newly acquired Laser 3000 (don't be embarrassed, I also had to look it up on the web - apparently it is a super-smooth half boat with more sail area than is reasonable, including an asymmetric spinni: loads of fun then, if you meet the pre-requisite of possessing a well developed sense of balance).

Colin and Mike gave chase throughout the series and should be rewarded for persistence - they're never far behind, but do seem to get lost when we let them pass. I think you're ready for your own Course Card guys. Mark and Kate have contrived not to meet head to head until the last day, when they beat us, twice. And we were fresh out of the Europeans, so I'll be watching for them a lot more closely. Perhaps you could give your Course Card to Colin?

Champagne Series
Starts on Sunday: Three races, starting at 13:00.

Round Hilbre 4
Sunday!!! Need I say more - great race, and probably time for a change on the scoreboard as Team White Tiger will be distributed between Abersoch and Honfleur. The forecast is for F5-6 NNW - fingers crossed it will happen - just make sure you get your kites up for a fast run back and beat those pesky Darts!

Anglesey Offshore Cat Race
Was won by Darts, which took the top three places. Well done to the Aspinalls. Really, they earnt it. Now then fleet, all together: "We must try harder." My write up on the web explains how we threw it away, and some of my frustration at being in front, without a clew (pun intended and quite subtle - read the story) where the next mark was despite reading the SI's and attending the briefing. Fifth time lucky then...

I'll be away this week, so normal email spam service will resume after Champagne 4,5&6 next Sunday morning - early start that one: 8:50.

Cheers
Simon
