Wayfarer and Dinghy News
Hi Everyone,
March has arrived and so the 2007 sailing season begins.
As you will be aware the Wayfarer and Dinghy Cruising fleet have been busy in getting a formal Saturday sailing programme together not only for themselves, but also for anyone else who wants to gain more experience on our waters, be it general training, cruising or how to start racing . As far as the training element goes Simon Stannard is happy to join us and provide Cat training for those of you who wish to try your hand with a Cat. Don't feel you have to a boat to join our activities ? We have plenty of boats to go round.
As far as possible we have endeavoured to produce a structured programme with an activity on each Saturday when there are no other club events taking place ( e.g. Open Day, Dart Open , Mersey Regattas etc )
The agreed club programme for Saturday Sailing has been published in the Club Sailing programme for 2007 and can be viewed on the Club website here. ? A programme showing just the cruising and Sat activities will be sent to you separately within the next week or so. Meanwhile the first 3 activities / events for March, 2 of which are shore based due to tides, are shown below
Reminder:
Sat 17 March commencing 2.15 p.m. in the Clubhouse - Sailing on the Dee Estuary.
A talk and discussion on where to go and not go when sailing on the Dee, tides, buoyage, names of various areas etc. ? In fact, all you need to know to sail safely around the area from people who have sailed the estuary for many years. Please come and make this a good kick off to the season. Everyone welcome.
