Wirral & Mersey Regatta Series 2007
With the weather taking a turn towards Autumn, one might be forgiven for thinking that Summer has finished... but that can't be right: the Wirral & Mersey Regatta Series is just around the corner, and that means there has to be plenty more Summer to look forward to.
The Wirral & Mersey Regatta Series pretty much dominates the whole of June, so if you want to sail much that month, you'll need to enter the competition. Four of the seven regattas (for dinghies and cats) are held on the Dee, with launching from the club, which makes life easy. The middle three events give you an opportunity to sail on the Mersey at New Brighton, and in Liverpool Bay at Hoylake. If the change of scenery doesn't do it for you, perhaps a shot at fame and the 'big prize money' will - in which case, you'll have to enter one or more of these three events to avoid being knobbled by DNCs!
The programme of events for dinghies and catamarans is:
- Sat 2 June, RMYC, on the Dee Estuary
- Sun 3 June, LYC, on the Dee Estuary
- Sat 9 June, WYC, at New Brighton
- Sun 10 June, WCSC, at New Brighton
- Sat 16 June, HSC, at Hoylake
- Sat 30 June, WKSC, on the Dee Estuary
- Sun 1 July, DSC, on the Dee Estuary
