Junior Travels - Update
On the 9th and 10th June Cameron Douglas, Michael Moruzzi and Alex Douglas attended the Optimist super Grand prix meeting at Lymington.
This event attracted 126 boats and is the biggest event outside the Nationals, Inland and end of Season championships.
The winds were less than 10 knots all weekend with strong stides on the solent.
Cameron was 13th overall in winds he did not favour, Mike was 47th and Alex 95th.
Last weekend there were some welcome local meetings.
Sat 16th was the Northern Area Championships and Super Grandprix at WKSC. There were 24 entries in total and 18 in the main fleet.
The winds were very light , less that 10 knots again.
The Regattas fleet for the less experienced racers was dominated by Dee SC and the Spedding family. Max took a very well deserved victory and was closely followed by Sophie. Charlie Ewing and David Bain also put in a good show. This was the first major event for Max.
The Main fleet was won by Cameron in convincing style with a race to spare.
Mike Moruzzi was 5th and Alex Douglas 16th. Further write up to follow.
On Sunday 17th time for an open meeting at Leigh and Lowton, see report from Y&Y below with top photo Cam at the start and bottom photo of Mike.
