Coronation Cup - Race Report

It had to happen; the ascent of the Wayfarer on the racing scene. In our first race at that. No longer a cruising steam ship, but a swift of sail craft parting the waves with great dexterity. Well, it was similar. In fact we were thrown from pillar to post, and finished up covered in bruises. We had few sightings of our competitors.Whether that was due our speed, or whether we went the wrong way round I'm not sure. We did spot several craft trying to extracate their masts from the muddy depths, but fortunately that did not befall us. I think we rather over stepped our time allocation and finished up doing an extra lap, but it was so enjoyable that it was a bonus. All in all a very pleasant day's cruising. Wait until the racing sails arrive - we'll give you twin hulls a nasty shock.

All the best.
