Junior sailing at West Kirby Lake

As the Autumn series continues, we have seen a beautiful array of red sails bobbing happily on the glittering waves of the Marine Lake. Julie's Mirror, ?Mirage?, and Charlie's Mirror ?Ronee? have been joined by two other prospective members and their families, who under Tony Marston's expert tuition have learnt to sail, and even race, their newly acquired boats The smiles and obvious enjoyment of their children as they sailed and raced with their parents for the first time was a delight to see and a reminder of how rewarding it can be to encourage and support newcomers.

Also joining the handicapped fleet have been Keiran in his Laser, and Danny with his friend Paddy, who both enjoyed crewing for Jonathan and Julie. Alex, with Wotta Toppa and Jacob with Mini Chi Chi continue to enjoy Topper sailing and are giving the Mirrors a run for their money.

It would also seem that being dunked in the Dee during the Coronation Cup pursuit race by Paul Oliver in his RS Feva, has boosted Rachel's confidence. She has been enjoying lake sailing with renewed vigour. So thank you Paul! The baptism of fire really worked!

Thanks must also go to Honor, our local paparazzi, for taking such lovely pictures of the expanding fleet.

As the year draws to a close we would like to invite Mirror owners of all ages (Junior and junior at heart) to join us on a Saturday at the lake, thus changing the growing fleet into a record breaking Armada.
