Junior Mirrors & Handicap Dinghies News

After a good turn out last week, things got even better this weekend with eight boats on the water, not all racing though, as Rachel and her friends Hazel & Sidney went of in their Topper to have a fun sail. Their Dad (Lez) went for a fast sail in their other boat, a Laser, to build his confidence up, so hopefully to join in the next time. (Hopefully a new family membership next year?)

With Julie G unavailable again this week we missed her and hope to see her soon, back on the water in Mirage.  Charlie E was at the other end, doing an Oppie Master class with West Kirby SC. He can show all his new skills off next week (Alex H beware). Cameron R took to the helm this week with the master Tony M giving him tips throughout the race ( remember Cameron the helm is the captain and tells the crew what to do!). So we started the racing with five boats but then Kieran L's sail ripped, forcing him to retire, so there were just left four boats for the second race: Alex H, Cameron R, Miles G and Danny H with Kieran as crew. Jacob W came a bit late and got changed very quickly, but only went for a little sail with dad (Nigel).
