Spring Sailing Sunday 29 March

Last Sunday saw a glorious Spring day for a change – “Goodbye Winter!!!”. Along with the daffodils and bluebells, many boats were seen to emerge from their winter cover. Being an excited early season boat twitcher, Simon Moruzzi wasted no time capturing them on film for our enjoyment:

Table Tennis at the Club

The Table Tennis Table has arrived and is rigged and ready for use. Both Juniors and Adults are welcome to have a go – increase your fitness, hand to eye coordination and agility – all handy for sailing-apparently?

GBR Youth Squad Train at DSC

On the 1 st March, 11 of the GBR Youth squad members came to DSC for an early season racing session on the sea. Access to sea sailing is some what limited in the north and all the attendees welcomed the chance to get on the sea and not to have to travel to the south coast!!. There will be a follow up session on the 15 th March.

World Team Racing Championships ? Perth Australia

Cameron Douglas recently returned from the Team racing world championships in Australia. Cameron was a last minute addition to the UK under 21 team when unfortunately one of the team was taken ill. The team, all from West Kirby, won the under 21 bronze medal. They were beaten by a strong Australian team who went on to win the silver medal in the senior competition and by the team from New Zealand.
