Dee sailors gave a great showing at Abersoch Mirror Week this year coming away with trophies for both outright winners and first junior boat.
It was great to see that in a fleet of 43 boats, 6 were from DSC, including a fantastic guest appearance from John and Archie Wyles all the way from British Columbia!
The early days saw very light winds and this played to the strengths of our Rear Commodore with Lee and Barnaby Matthews taking the lead in the fleet on day 1. Close behind them, in our lovely club Mirrrors, were Matthew and Harriet Waddington along with James and Josh Waddington. Continue reading
This Saturday we have one of the highlights of the calendar. Leaving Dee SC at 1000 for those on boats with taxis running from Hilbre around low water.
Don’t forget cash for the bar and please bring any food you’d like to put on the BBQ.
Looking forward to a great day: For those catching a water taxi from Hilbre please ensure you have a buoyancy aid with you.
Well here we go again ! Saturday is our first venture onto the lake together this year.
The plan is to meet at 1100 and have a couple of hours on the water.
So as to gauge numbers, can you let me know if you’ll be joining us and what boat you’re planning to bring along. If Oppies are needed I can help you get these organised.
Hope to see you Saturday
Six of our brave Mirror sailors lead by our intrepid Rear Commodore sailing braved the cruel weather as part of the class winter training squads at Southport this weekend. On Saturday we saw frozen sea water on the Marine lake followed by -4 on Sunday with gusts at +25. Despite the tough conditions the team were on the water morning and afternoon Saturday and Sunday and as you can see are still smiling ! Great work team #DEEdication
