Sport England offer funding to enable clubs such as ours to expand and enhance their facilities through their “Inspired facilities” project. Please take a look at https://www.sportengland.org/funding/our-different-funds/inspired-facilities/frequently-asked-questions/ to see what its all about.
The general committee are planning to make an application and are currently considering what improvements would best serve the club and its members.
Improved changing facilities , training room and equipment storage appear to be the main candidates.
Before a final decision is made we would like to hear from members who have any ideas for consideration.
Please drop a short email to email@example.com to let me know your ideas before Monday 14th April.
Hi all, this Sunday sees the first races of the new season. There will be a three weekend Spring series to get us back into the swing of things. Better weather has been ordered and the first signs are just starting to appear.
A full sailing program has been prepared and and is just awaiting confirmation of race duties and will be published on line and in the handbook. If you have had an email from Olly Price about race duties there may still be time to pick a date before you are handed one by him so please let him know if you have’nt already. If you missed the preview program you can find it attached here. SailngProgram2014V11A4
Following on from last year we have kept the format of repeating special events such as the Whombaff and the Round Hilbre. However this year there is a twist, the remaining series races have been organised into morning “Launch and Lunch” and midday “Sail and Ale” series. As the names suggest both will be followed by organised socials and we hope that you will all stay and join in the fun. Where necessary the Bar and Club will stay open to facilitate. ie you wont go home thirsty !
Also look out for the training column in the program, some link to Sunday racing and provide pre or post race briefing and some are separate on and off the water sessions. Please contact our training officier James Douglas if you are interested in taking part.
Thats it for now lets look forward to a great season of sailing.
2013 Prize giving will take place in the clubhouse this Sunday 26th of January from 1300. We have a full program of awards for you accompanied by canapes and drinks from bar. So please come over to the club as we celebrate the accomplishments of our members.
