As the situation regarding the Corona virus evolves, the General Committee wish to share the following update.
As expected, government advice on measures to slow the spread of the virus were ramped up on Monday 16th March.
So based on the new guidance (see below), we have made the decision to close the bar with immediate effect.
‘Everyone should avoid gatherings and crowded places, such as pubs, clubs and theatres’
However, members are still able to access their boats in the boat park and the toilets, as long as everyone follows the on-going advice, ie self-isolate if unwell, social distancing, washing hands, etc,
Also we have been able to get hold of some hand sanitiser and dispensers which are being put up in the entrance; thanks to Roy & the team for that.
We will continue to assess whether sailing will be affected, and further updates will be issued before Winter Series racing which is scheduled on the 28th.
So in summary:
- The bar is closed with immediate effect
- Access to boats continues to be allowed
Please share the above with any members you think may not have seen this update and remember, if anyone needs help or support to get to the supermarket or chemist, please contact (firstname.lastname@example.org) and we’ll look to get members to help each other out.
Thanks for your on-going support
