Getting Started training

DSC_1087crop

Over the coming weeks we will be running some informal sessions to try to help members getting started sailing.

This weekend Sunday 14th April has been penciled in as the start of this process.

We will also be getting some support from the RYA on the basis that we commit to a 10 week programme. Ideally people attend for all the sessions. The main thing is that we keep you interested and you are keen to keep attending. If you cannot make all the sessions then most of them would be good!!

So the plan is to run a programme for 10 days (Saturdays or Sundays to be arranged) from 13/4/13. Sorry if this is a little short notice.

The firm aim would be to encourage people to start to take part in the Sunday sailing after say the first month of sessions.

We can try to give help to; people wanting to crew; people wanting to start on the helm and will try to cover catamarans/ monohulls or cruisers and indeed people interested helping with the rescue ribs.

The idea will be to run a short training session each weekend covering a number of aspects of starting sailing. When the weather and tides are suitable this would involve on the water sessions and when not suitable we would do land sessions. I stress these would be informative but informal sessions.

We can start this Sunday with an introduction session and a bit of planning for the following weeks.

Please can you let me know if you are interested and if you could attend on Sunday say 1100 for an introduction session.

Best regards
